Adjusting Flow

Time for Normal Adj: Goal (3min) Bench Mark (5min) #

💡 We want the patient to feel relaxed. Encourage them not to talk once we start the adjustment, so they can be focused on visualizing with us moving the bone and stimulating the nervous system, restoring full function! We should be visualizing how that adjustment is going to help them achieve what’s important to them. Or what’s on the top of their mind. Or what’s helping them achieve their goals. We want them to feel like we are efficient (NOT RUSHED) and very focused, intentional, and very caring!

Adjusting Flow: #

  1. Call the patient to the Table (While still with other patient. We want them to have a couple of minutes to unload and play down.)
  2. Greet patient {5sec} (while putting notes in) – “Hi Betty, I’ll be right with you… I’m finishing up putting a couple notes in.”
  3. Small talk {30sec} (While palpating, give insight on what you’re finding and what you need to do for adjustment.) Ask any questions…like “have you had a more stressful week? How did Johnny soccer game go yesterday? Did you do anything different over the weekend that may have caused this extra tension in the upper back?”
  4. Prep to start a powerful adjustment {10sec} (create value for adjustment relating it to what’s important to them) – “OK, let’s get you adjusted get everything lined up so the brain – body signals are running at full power with nothing interfering with it. This will help you deal better with the stressful day you’ve been having, or to prepare you for XYZ etc..”
  5. Focused Powerful Adjustment {2 min} (very purposed as if their life depends on it…because it does!) – Giving commentary…“let’s start with the hips and pelvis…the foundation your spine sits on. , This is extra tight! Know of anything that would cause that? Excellent… this is adjusting so much better!, that opened up well…better brain body signals to your heart and lungs, stomach, digestive system, improve immune system function!”
  6. Final instructions {15sec} reminder of an exercise or a stretch, they need to be doing. Any closing education on the principal that relates to them and their goals. Send message to FD to text a video.
  7. Goodbye {5sec} (as your putting in notes and rotating to the other table) – “Have a…Much better day!, Great week!, Good Mothers Day!” Etc.
