ℹ️ Home orientation is the list of exercises patients can do at home to assist in gaining the most from their care. These include stretches and body weight exercises that anyone can do, as well as exercises that require equipment that may be included in the patient’s care plan.
Home Orientation exercises are distributed through a YouTube Playlist that is automatically sent through a text message when our texting software is alerted by a “Home Orientation” appointment scheduled in ChiroTouch. They will also receive a sheet with a QR code that will direct them to the same playlist.
Procedure #
- Patient signs up for the plan, and their appointments are pre-scheduled.
- Home Orientation is scheduled along with their BRF
- TA preps exercise sheets and bags of equipment for each patient on the day of the BRF.
- Dr Hill will explain the Home Orientation sheet during the BRF, and the team will pass out their sheets and exercise equipment (if included in the plan)
- Also at the BRF, we will schedule the patient’s initial PT consultation, at which the trainer will go over the questions they may have about their exercises.
❗If a patient has recommended equipment that is not included in their care plan payments, they can purchase that equipment at any time.
Patient doesn’t attend BRF (Or watches video) #
If the patient doesn’t attend their first BRF, if they watch the video, or if the doctor requests they get their therapies before the BRF, Home Orientation will be scheduled on their next visit. They will receive the Therapy Sheet and equipment on that visit with a brief explanation of how to find the training videos. We will schedule their Initial PT Consultation at that visit as well.
