Qualified vs Non-Qualified

Use the following characteristics/circumstances to determine if a patient should be considered a Qualified or Non-Qualified patient for the purposes of metric tracking.

QUALIFIED #

  1. Lives in the local area (Approx. 50-Mile Radius)
  2. Is moving into the local area within at least one month and will be able to come in regularly
  3. May have a tight budget but is not experiencing any catastrophic financial event (Such as a Divorce, House Fire, Lawsuit, Job Loss, etc.)
  4. Does not explicitly decline the possibility of starting a care plan (As in the case of an automatic PPV)
  5. Is experiencing a condition in which our office can take care of without having to refer out to another provider
  6. Is cognitively stable (mentally and/or emotionally healthy enough to make an informed decision) ****

NON-QUALIFIED #

  1. Not local
  2. Is moving outside of the local area soon and will not be able to come in regularly
  3. Is experiencing, or anticipating a catastrophic financial event (Such as a Divorce, House Fire, Lawsuit, etc.)
  4. Explicitly communicates that they will be paying per visit during the New Patient or Reactivation Exam
  5. Is suffering from a condition in which our office is not fit to serve them and must refer out to another provider
  6. Is cognitively impaired (not mentally and/or emotionally healthy enough to make an informed decision)
